PEOPLE from all walks of life are launching into new careers within the alternative therapies industry.
Often it takes a disaster or illness before a person re-evaluates their life and career choice, which is what happened to Hazel Wardha when she lost her son in a drowning accident.
"I was distraught and suffered severe depression and did not know how I could move forward. Everything changed after I received treatment from a Pranic practitioner," she said.
"I had tried so many other things, yet it took just one session to turn my life around. It was that experience that led me to my newfound career as a Pranic practitioner and teacher, which I now combine with my business as a homeopath and acupuncturist."
Dr Wardha, director of the Ashish Institute for Inner Studies, spent years studying before becoming a qualified Pranic teacher.
The modern-day founder of Pranic, Choa Kok Sui, a Filipino-Chinese scientist, engineer, philanthropist businessman, teacher and author, expanded this healing therapy to 84 countries, where it continues to be taught today.
Dr Wardha explains Pranic therapy as the transference of life force - otherwise known as bio-energy or quantum energy (Qi in Chinese), to treat sick or diseased energy.
"An energy body surrounds and interpenetrates all living forms. This energy body stores the causes of disease. Pranic is a technique that cleanses, energises and rebalances the energy body to enable physical health to be restored.
"Many of the theories of quantum physicists support the principles and practice of Pranic techniques that can be applied to all physical, mental and emotional disease. It can also be used for all aspects of life, such as finances, relationships, environments and for creating health and wellbeing."
Dr Wardha has been teaching Pranic techniques for more than a decade.
"I teach how we can access a person's state of being from a distance to determine stressed or emotionally disturbed people whose energy bodies are clogged up and contaminated, hence cannot absorb or transfer adequate life force," she says.
"We use a method known as scanning to enable a therapist to determine where the problem is. If it is a physical matter we scan the body, or if it's finances, we scan that - and the same for relationships and so forth.
"The advantage of this system of treatment is that distant healing can be administered across thousands of miles. "As scientists acknowledge, the universe has one energy body that connects all living forms, which is why we are able to work in this way.
"Most people do not know that they are sick until they are informed by a medical practitioner. That is unless they have access to skilled Pranic practitioners. Stress creates disease and inner turbulence and removing stress energy from the energy body and its centres enables a person to enjoy mental clarity, physical and mental wellbeing."
According to Dr Wardha, the only requirement to take up courses in Pranic is average intelligence.
"We teach a basic understanding of energy centres (chakras) in the energy body in level one of the course."
Only certified Pranic participants who have completed the necessary requirements can teach, but qualified practitioners can work in medical clinics, natural therapy or chiropractic health centres.
"Many also choose to become self-employed," says Dr Wardha, who says they can earn more than $40,000 a year working part-time and more full-time

Pranic Healing - Does a no-touch system really work?
By Dr Hazel Wardha (Ph.D.)
In the late spring of 1996, our 26 year old, gifted son, who was a chiropractor, went to the Barrier Reef on a cruise and drowned accidentally .We waited in agonized suspense as aircraft searched the seas unsuccessfully for two days. Our son’s four day luxury cruise, which he had been planning to go on for years, turned out to be a prolonged and living nightmare for us.
The devastating grief of parents , when a child predeceases them , can only be comprehended by someone who has had a similar experience.
My will to live was at a very low ebb when we decided to go to India in order to come to grips with our tragedy . While in New Delhi, our close friends suggested that I try Pranic Healing to see if it would help me to cope .
The Pranic Healing Foundation of Delhi was nearby and somehow I felt drawn to the place. They were running a Basic two day course in Pranic Healing and I decided to attend the course. That decision changed everything for me in a dramatic and magical way.
People from all walks of life attended the course - housewives, office workers, army officers, computer professionals, and a solicitor. Two days of compressed learning acquainted us with the basic techniques , such as , scanning the energy body or human electro-magnetic field that controls our physical and psycho-emotional aspects and correcting the patterns of disharmony by cleansing and energizing it.
I learned that all imbalances first appear in the human electro-magnetic field and then move into the physical and emotional bodies. There are energy centers called “chakras” that control different organs and glands and congestion or depletion in these affects one’s physical and emotional well being. I learned about specific, systematic techniques to correct the imbalances that cause symptoms of disease and to heal problematic aspects of day to day living such as unhealthy financial conditions and relationships. There were additional benefits. Some of the participants dormant clairvoyant , clairaudient and healing abilities were awakened during the two day course!
I am a Chinese medical acupuncturist and a Homoeopathic physician in practice for over 20 years. I am very impressed by this science of healing, which has been simplified by its founder, Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, to such an extent that the basic skills can be learned in two days. I was even more impressed when , during this course, after the first day’s instruction, most of the participants, with no previous training in health care, went home and treated successfully ailing members of their families. Most of them reported that symptoms of musculo-skeletal pain subsided instantly.
I learned that “Prana”, a Sanskrit word , is a synonym for “life energy” or “vital energy”, which drives all living forms and can be accessed easily and that the sun, ground and air are abundant sources of this energy.
It was demonstrated how we can recharge ourselves by standing beneath a tree and asking its permission to partake of some of its vital , reinvigorating energy. It is important to ask permission of the tree and afterwards to thank it . If this permission is not requested and the tree is “assaulted” in this manner , eventually it dies from having absorbed the sick energies of people. Subsequently, I have tested the efficacy of this procedure frequently . After a busy day at the clinic, when I have felt depleted, I have hugged trees during visits to the Dandenong Mountains, and felt instantly revitalized. Walking barefeet on the ground is also energizing , for there are chakras on the soles of the feet that absorb ground Prana. It dawned on me why folks in India walked barefeet on their lawns to improve their vision!
During the Pranic Healing course I learned how to cleanse the human energy field of etheric dirt and recharge it with fresh, revitalizing Prana. All of us felt squeaky clean by the end of the second day and the benefit to our emotional and physical well being was obvious. Our energy systems had been rebalanced and harmonized during the practice sessions.
I found the whole system of Pranic Healing fascinating , as well as mind boggling. I observed instant healing for simple ailments like headaches . The healer did not touch the physical body at all. Moreover, the techniques are effective for most “sick” energy fields that surround humans such as relationships, finances, businesses, work environments and most of all to de-stress a person within a few minutes. From the very first day of the course we were able to use the techniques of cleansing and energizing sick vortices of energy and witness remarkable results.
Therefore, when we were told that Grand Master Choa Kok Sui, the modern founder of Pranic Healing , would address Pranic Healers at the conclusion of our course, I was keen to meet this man of world repute. There were 600 people in the Ballroom of the Grand Hyatt. As soon as Grand Master Choa walked in the energy of the whole room became charged and we instantly felt the benefits of sitting within his huge, healing aura. I had heard of such things but had never experienced it before.
Grand Master Choa gave us some tips about Pranic healing and then he said he would demonstrate instant healing. He asked all those who had headaches to stand wherever they were and with one sweep of his hand he projected energy for half a minute. Five out of eight people said that their headaches subsided instantly, and the remaining three said they felt much better. The entire audience was speechless with admiration and respect for this great healer and teacher.
Grand Master Choa , a scientist, engineer and businessman, is from the Philippines . He was guided to research the ancient art and science of Pranic Healing as he believed that it would provide a healer in every Filipino household. Medical aid is still scarce in the Philippines and this great philanthropist and healer spent twenty years doing his research in order to simplify the system so that the lay person could learn Pranic healing skills easily.
By the end of the evening I was so impressed with this system of healing that I felt impelled to ask the Delhi Foundation Trustees to introduce me to someone from Grand Master Choa’s staff whom I could approach in order to teach this course to my fellow Australians. I felt this overwhelming urge to bring this system into Australian households so that they could be empowered . In the melee of 600 people I had almost given up hope of finding the right person , when suddenly I walked towards my left and met a staff member of the Grand Master. My first question to him was, “Can you come and teach Pranic Healing in Australia?” He said yes right away. During our conversation , he looked at me and said, “Your lower chakras (energy centers) are very depleted.” I agreed and told him about our tragedy. He said that the lower chakras control the will to live and I agreed since mine was at a low ebb.
This staff member arranged to give me a Pranic Healing. The treatment was Pranic Psychotherapy. He was able to use scientific techniques to cleanse my chakras or energy centers of all the negative energies that our tragedy had locked into my electro-magnetic field. These had made me so depressed that I had lost my will to live. It took 45 minutes of intense work during which I was able to release grief and I literally went through a transforming experience . At the conclusion of the treatment my grief no longer disabled me.The treatment did not require the therapist to touch me physically. He worked on my energy field. After the treatment I felt vital, energetic, and peaceful. When my friends met me that evening they said that I was transformed and thanked God that my smile was back. Since then, I have been able to help many others who have been depressed or in similar grief situations.
I decided to go to Manila with my second son, an acupuncturist, and we did further courses in Pranic Healing at Grand Master Choa’s Institute.
I returned to Melbourne full of vitality , enthusiasm and motivation and was able to organize Pranic healing courses shortly afterwards .These were well attended and brought dramatic changes in the lives of many people. The benefits were to one’s physical and emotional well being. But we also learned how to harness energy in order to materialize our wishes and the old belief system of helpless humans was removed as we tapped into the immense abilities we all have when we learn these simple but powerful techniques.
We learned how to recharge our systems with special breathing techniques. Try this one. Place the tip of your tongue on your palate (roof of the mouth). This facilitates the circulation of energy in the body. Then inhale through your nose, expanding your abdomen , then the diaphragm. When you exhale pull your stomach muscles in . This is abdominal breathing and it recharges the body with fresh , revitalizing Prana and releases stress. Do this inhalation and exhalation for 12 cycles and experience the difference yourself. While inhaling count seven and then hold the breath for one count and when exhaling count seven and hold the breath for one count. This is called the 7-1-7-1 breathing technique and it works. By holding the breath for one count the entire body is flooded with Prana.
Pranic Healing is a system which makes instant healing possible for certain conditions . I would like to share a personal experience about this. While cutting a chestnut, the knife slipped and my finger had a deep cut. I asked our son to use the techniques for the instant healing of wounds so that we could test if the system really worked. It did. The wound stopped bleeding instantly and the skin healed over completely within a few minutes.
It is no wonder that Pranic Healing has spread globally within five years .
